Björn Vollmuth, based in Frankfurt, Germany, is a lawyer and photographer with over 25 years of experience behind the camera. Specializing in documentary and sports photography, he has a passion for capturing the energy and emotion of surf culture. A chance meeting with Big Wave Grand Prix athlete Freddy Olander inspired a long-term project documenting the world of big wave surfing, both in and out of the water. Björn’s work highlights not only the dramatic action on the waves but also the dedication and preparation that shape the athletes’ journeys.
